Spencer
Spencer is in one of my more favorite stages. He is just so darn cute sometimes. He loves animals! He walks around the house saying E-I-E-I with out the O. He has started learning the animals sounds and his "MOO" is so cute as is his "SSSS" for a snake. It won't be long before he will be able to do all of the animals sounds. He has also been learning his body parts which is fun to watch. To go along with his head shaking 'no' he has now learned to do 'yes'. It's not just his head that shakes yes though. It is an entire body movement. He is starting to say words. You ask him to say a word and he really tries to say it. He does quite well actually. Last night when he was in the bath I asked him to say Hannah. He looked at me and he actually said it! You could tell that he said Hannah. I had Hannah come in and hear him say it. Hannah says, "Are you big enough to say my name now?" It was quite adorable to see the two. He can now give you a closed mouth kiss which is nice instead of the open mouth slobbery kisses. It's fun to watch his expressions too.
On the flip side he is still a busy body in constant motion it seems. He has now learned to climb on the kitchen chairs so we have to put the chairs on their sides so that he doesn't climb on the table and over the bannister to the stairs below. He also pulls himself up on the toilet. He climbs on anything possible actually. He has really slimmed down and isn't a chunk anymore. At 6 months he was almost 18 pounds. At 9 months he was 19.5 pounds. At 1 year he wasn't even 20 pounds. When I just took him in for his 15 month check he wasn't even 21 pounds (5%). He has only gained 3 pounds in 9 months. I don't know how he could gain any weight when he expends so much energy everyday. He's as healthy as can be though so no big deal. He really is a happy pleasant little boy most of the time (quite refreshing from his grumpy older sister). He loves to cuddle which I love!

I wish we could hear him try his new words but know he won't do it on the phone yet. I do remember how cute he was trying to sing E-I-E-I-O. He definitely is a climber; you can just see his little mind turning if there is even a remote chance he can get higher. Have you thought more about coming for an Oregon visit? Mom K
