Spencer's stage

Spencer is at a very fun yet very challenging stage right now. Since he learned to walk and became very mobile a few months ago, he is all over the place and into everything. I can hardly keep up with the kid. He is constantly on the go. It is quite a challenge when we go out in the public somewhere. He is so curious. He will climb onto anything he sees. I have to really watch him and yet I discover new bruises and scratches all of the time. He is fearless (definitely not cautious like Hannah). Sacrament meeting seems like a wrestling match each week. Still 5 months until nursery...poor Chad. Spencer has really caught on to the sign language we have taught him and he is very good at letting us know when he wants his milk, when he wants to eat, if he wants more, or if he is done. It is much easier than trying to figure out what his different grunts mean, which is how he communicates for everything else. Chad just taught him how to do "reading" in sign language which is his new love. He loves books and being read to. He will climb up the bookcase to get a book he wants and then holds it out to you and grunts until you put him on your lap and read to him. It is actually pretty cute. His all time favorite book is "Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb" He has also learned to shake his head no. You'll ask him questions and he'll shake his head no. It's very adorable with the look he gives you and the way he tilts his head as he shakes his head no. It's hard not to smile at him. He has also learned to spin. He'll just stand in the middle of the room and turn himself around until he gets dizzy and falls. He thinks it's quite amusing. I think he has watched Hannah "spin" in her pretty dresses one too many times. The other day as I opened my eyes after the blessing on our food for lunch I noticed Spencer was folding his arms. I hadn't realized he had caught onto that. Now when we pray we ask him to fold his arms which he will often do. It's amazing how much they learn just by observing.

Wow. Lots of those things sound EXACTLY like Lawson. I wonder how many of those things are "boy" things?
