Life changing month

I actually drafted this post the beginning of May and never posted it so I figured better late then never right?! I can't remember what I was going to add to it, but here it is. I can say that now that it's been another 6 months, we have come a long way from the 3 weeks it had been. Sundays are still the hardest day of the week. It's hard to escape a converstaion with someone without them asking me how we're doing as the Bishop's family. Overall we are doing fine and we have our good and bad days just like anybody else. What good does it do to dwell on how much he is gone. Life does go on even for the Bishop's family!
April turned out to be a bit of a crazy month for us. The first wednesday of the month Chad and I got called in to meet with the Stake President. It's hard not to let you mind wander and wonder about what is going to happen. There's only a few reasons why you would meet with the Stake President. I had thought that Chad would probably be released as the HP Leader and be called as the Young Mens President since the YM President was moving that next weekend. I was mistaken. The Stake President got right down to business and told us that changes were being made and Chad was being called as the Bishop of the ward. It was very unexpected as the previous Bishop had only been in for 3 years. The hardest part proved to be the 2 1/2 weeks until he was actually sustained at our ward conference on April 22nd. That is a long time to know and think about it when nobody else knows. His counselors weren't called until a few days prior to the ward conference and the previous Bishopric wasn't told until the morning of the ward conference. It took everyone by surprised I think, but we have felt a positive response to the change which has been nice. We are in our third week as the Bishop's family. We are surviving and have already felt that we are being blessed. Chad definitly has a lot of meetings and places to be now and I am left to put the kids to bed on my own. Sundays are pretty draining on us both. The kids have quickly learned to find Chad in his office at church and love the chalkboard that is in there for them to draw on. The kids don't quite understand why daddy can't come home with us after church. Chad is enjoying working with his counselors.
The family on the big day!

We don't usually have pictures of just the two of us so I decided to post this one too.

Chad and his dad. Handsome or what!

Hannah and Spencer loved having both of their grandma's and grandpa's here
