Eggs anyone?

This picture definitely needs explaining! Over a month ago I had gotten out of the shower and could hear the kids coughing. Something struck me as odd and out of place. I came down the hallway from my bedroom and could see smoke in the air and heard the microwave running. I stopped the microwave as quickly as possible and found what you see in the above picture upon opening the door. After inquiring into what had happened, Spencer said he was cooking eggs. Well, before getting into the shower I had made sure the kids had things to do to keep them busy and out of trouble while I took my very quick shower (5 minutes max!). Spencer chose to play with the container that had all of the plastic fruits, vegetables, and food items in it. He often wants to play with this. He decided that the plastic over-easy eggs needed to be cooked and proceeded to place it in the microwave and turn it on. Occassionally Spencer pushes buttons on the microwave though he had never started it before nor since. Somehow he got lucky and pushed the start button. I don't know how long it took to "cook" the eggs (though I do know my shower was short) but it was long enough to totally burn the plastic. The time remaining on the microwave was over 7 minutes. The odor from the burnt plastic was so bad and it made my throat burn from inhaling the air. My entire house smelled of burnt plastic including the basement. I had to open every single window in the house (upstairs and downstairs) to air the house out. We actually left for a while because it was so bad and not good for us to breath the fumes. I am glad a fire didn't start or the microwave get ruined. It took some effort to scrap the eggs off the glass plate. I had a nice little talk with Spencer and Hannah. Spencer has not pushed any buttons on the microwave since.

They can be friends!

I posted this more to convince myself that my kids really can get along. Today was actually a really horrible day with the kids. As I have been browsing through pictures, I came across these and am glad for the reminder that my kids can be cute and be nice together though not as often as I would want (which would be always of course!)

Hannah is extremely lucky to have a brother who goes along with what she wants to do most of the time. Pretty styling with the sunglasses, cell phones, backpacks, and boots (Spencer always wanted to wear his boots!)

The easter baskets make great hats!

Cuddle time!

Spencer's 2 year old pictures

These are also several months old (at least I'm finally getting around to posting them right?!). Spencer was a bit hesitant about the whole experience and I had to stay close but they turned out so cute and I think you can really see his personality in some of the pictures. He is such a handful now days. He never stops!

This picture made me think of Ben when he was little

Hannah's 4 year old pictures

These pictures are from like 3 months ago. Hannah is pretty easy to take and get pictures now. She eagerly does what the photographer asks her to do which is nice. She is four going on 20! She is definitly not my little girl anymore.

Old pictures

These pictures are like 8 months old but Chad was helping me scan in my current pictures of the kids so we went ahead and did these too. It is actually an 11x14 picture that is all on the same page but I couldn't scan it in one piece. I had a coupon from Kiddie Kandids and got this for free which was even better! The pictures don't look as good after they are scanned but you get the idea anyway. If only they got along as well as they appear to in the picture below......sigh!
